Contract Research Laboratory

Position Description:

Under the supervision of the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) or designee, the Billing Clerk will primarily be responsible for assisting Laboratory Management with invoicing, contract processing, data input, execution and administration.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Assist the CSO or designee in all aspects of contract administration ensuring attention to detail and accuracy
  • Gather, organize and synthesize pertinent information from documents to prepare invoicing, billing for multi-tiered contracts
  • Track status of contract invoicing, budget and billing through completion
  • Ensure that contract correspondence, documentation, and records are being prepared accurately and are current
  • File and maintain all temporary and final files (both electronic and hard copies)
  • Attend and participate in laboratory staff meetings and client conference calls
  • Coordinate with Accounting Department to facilitate collection efforts
  • Provide general administrative support as needed

Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Excellent business and financial acumen
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • 2-4 years contract administration experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks a plus
  • Superior communication (written and oral) and proofreading skills
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work, take on new projects and multi-task in a fast-paced setting
  • Must be dependable and willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
